Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Carroll V. Jewell, 77, of Story City died November 3, 2013 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 7th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 6th at Immanuel Lutheran Church and also one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Carroll was born on May 24, 1936 to Wilmer Christian and Julia Aletta (Haugland) Jewell in Earlham, Iowa. He married Carol Stoll on September 10, 1955. Carroll lived most of his life in the Story City area where he farmed for many years and later worked for the Co-op. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, a board member of Riverside Bible Camp and was also a 4-H Leader. Carroll's favorite past times were his horses and fishing.

Carroll is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol of Story City and two daughters, Vickie (Bruce) Hall of Humboldt, IA and Connie (Michael) Kinyon of Nevada, IA; son, Darrell (Brenda) Jewell of Roland, IA; six grandchildren; Wayne Kinyon, Kent Kinyon, Heather Dahl, Aryn Jewell, Amber Jewell and Austin Jewell; four great-grandchildren; Michaela Kinyon, Kane Kinyon, Aidan Dahl and Benjamin Kinyon; three brothers: Charles (Virginia) Jewell of Jewell, IA, Jerry Jewell of St. Louis, MO, and Don (Sue) Jewell of Gainesville, VA; two sisters: Nancy Jewell of Story City, IA and Anna Jewell of Bay City, MI and brother-in-law, Larry Cherry of Santé Fe, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother James D. Jewell and sister Doris Powers-Cherry.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to: Riverside Bible Camp, Immanuel Lutheran Church or Bethany Manor.
