Obituary From Adams Soderstrum Funeral Home, Story County, Iowa.

Walter D. Mortvedt, 85, of Story City died October 28, 2013 at Bethany Manor in Story City. Memorial services will be Saturday November 9, 2013 at 10:30 at Riverside Bible Camp O. A. Mortvedt Hall in Story City.

Walter was born on December 9, 1927 in Hamilton county to Osmund A. and Margaret A. (Henryson) Mortvedt. He farmed for many years and then worked at Bethany Manor. Walter enjoyed golfing, fishing, bingo and playing cards. He had served as a trustee at St. Petri Lutheran Church and on the Story City School Board.

He is survived by two sons, Bruce (Jolene) Mortvedt and Tim (Deb) Mortvedt both of Story City; two daughters, Nancy (Chad) Raymond of Northbrook, IL and Jane Morgan of Mooresville, NC; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and a sister, Marie Risdal of Long Island, NY.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Sam Mortvedt; a great grandson, Elias Schaefer; two brothers, Ansel and Donald and three sisters, Doris Harms, Helen Jacobson and Theola Clark.

Memorials may be made to Riverside Bible Camp.
