Homer Frederick Thomas

Homer Frederick Thomas, 79, of 1805 6th St., Nevada, died Wednesday, March 1, 1989 at his home of a heart ailment. He was ill for the last year.

Thomas was born April 8, 1909 in Story County, IA to Will J. and Carrie (Anderson) Thomas. He was a resident of Story County for his entire file and a retired farmer.

On August 21, 1935 Thomas married Evelyn Young in Hermitage, MO. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; one son, Raymond Thomas of Nevada; two daughters, Rita Gonser of San Jose, CA, and Dixie Grindem of Richardson, TX; six grandchildren, three great grandchildren; one nephew, Gerald Jones of Los Angeles, CA; one brother-in-law, Dorothy Alexander, both of Phoenix, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, one sister and one step grandson.

Funeral services were held at Chet Ryan Mortuary on Saturday at 11 a.m. Rev. Brad Braley officiated. Burial took place in the Nevada Cemetery.
