W. J. Thomas Shipley, Died

William James Thomas, 76, Shipley died about 10 a. m. yesterday at Story county Hospital, where he had been a patient about three weeks. He had been in ill health for about two and one-half months.

He was born in Nevada in 1881. Mr. Thomas farmed for about 30 years. For the past 20 years he was custodian of the Shipley Consolidated Schools.

Survivors include two sons, Homer and Ray of Nevada; one daughter, Mrs. Vivian Jones, Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren and one brother, John of Atkinson, Kan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie, in 1958 and two sons.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p. m. from the Ryan Funeral Home. The Rev. James Dendler will officiate. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.
