William Howard Shalley
Died May 13, 2000

William Howard "Bill" Shalley, 65, of Mesa, Ariz., and formerly of Nevada, died of cancer on May 13.

He had lived his entire life in Nevada, only moving to Arizona in 1997. He was an employee of the U.S. Postal service and a mail carrier for many years in Nevada. He also served on the city council for four years, served as Scout leader and was head usher at the United Methodist Church in Nevada. He worked part-time at Nevada True-Value Hardware store after retirement from the Postal Service.

Survivors include his wife, Beverly (Tjelmeland) Shalley of Mesa; two sons, Bill (and Mary) of Kansas and Don of Clorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren; three sisters, Jan Belgum of Watertown, Minn., Beverly Douglass of Bradenton, Fla., and Dorla Beye of Crestline, Calif.; and three brothers, Adrian of Phoenix, Ariz., Jo of Edina, Minn., and Lynn of Auburn, Calif.

Services were held in the Methodist Church in Mesa on May 15. Memorial donations may be made to the local chapter of the Cancer Society or to Hospice. His body was cremated.
