THOMAS VERN ELLISON

Thomas Vern Ellison, 67, of rural Colo, IA, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1987, at Story County Hospital, Nevada.

He was born Dec. 20, 1919 to John Vern Ellison and Frances Ledlie.

He was married to Kay Horner Nov. 20, 1943.

Mr. Ellison worked in highway maintenance for the Dept. of Transportation for the State of Iowa.

He was a member of the Colo United Methodist Church, Columbia Masonic Lodge No. 292, Isabelle Chapter of Eastern Star at Colo.

He had served on the board of directors of the Colo Telephone Co. and had been a 4-H leader.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, at the United Methodist Church in Colo with Rev. Jack Weida of Colo and Rev. James Louk of Clear Lake IA officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery, Nevada IA.

Survivors include his wife, Kay; two daughters, Pamela Kay McCoy of Carlisle IA and Janelva Sue Berkowitz of San Antonio TX; two sisters, Mary Francis Foulke of Wilton CT and Berny Gray of Winchester WA; two grandchildren, Cathy Anderson and Justin Berkowitz.

Visitation will be Friday, Feb. 13, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Cooper-Ryan Funeral Home, 5th St. and Lincoln Hwy., Nevada. There will be a Masonic service at the funeral home Friday at 7:30 p.m.
