Former Nevada man died Sunday

ALVIN L. McINTOSH

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Ryan Funeral Home for Alvin L. McIntosh, former Nevada and Ames resident who died Sunday in Winter Park, Florida after a 4-year illness. He was 63. The Rev. Franz Lohberg will officiate and burial will be in the Nevada Cemetery.

Born November 6, 1911 to William and Gertrude McIntosh at Nevada, he was a member the Catholic Church. McIntosh was a former driver for the Greyhound Bus Lines and a retired driver for Morton Frozen Foods.

He is survived by five children: James of Springfield, Missouri, Mrs. Marlene Moser of Slidell, La., Mrs. Jan Himes of Minneapolis, Minn., Mrs. Linda Hedglin of Winter Park, Fla., and Jeri McIntosh of San Diego, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and 3 brothers, Harry of Mattoon, Ill., Grant of Ames, and Lowell of Portsmouth, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
