Mary McCall Allen
May 26, 1905 to Nov. 5, 1999

Mary McCall Allen, 94, died Nov. 5 at San Joaquin Gardens Care Center in Fresno, Calif. She was a lifelong resident of Nevada until she moved to Fresno in 1992.

She attended the University of Iowa for three years and was a member of Tri-Delta Sorority. She transferred to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she graduated with honors in 1927. She married Philip Allen of Nevada on Aug. 10, 1929, and lived on the farm in Milford Township until Philip passed away in 1980. One of the joys in her life was teaching kindergarten, which she did in what were then the Milford and Shipley school districts. She was active in D.A.R., P.E.O., Milford Club, Thimble Club and Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane McCoy of Fresno, Calif.; two sons, David Allen of Ames and Edward Allen of Bt. Calhoun, Neb.; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her sister, Harriet Horton and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada, with the Rev. Larry Mitchell officiating. A lunch will be served and social time observed at the church immediately following the service. Memorials may be made to Central Presbyterian Church.
