The following sketch of the life of the deceased was read during the service.
"Caroline Weick was born in Arnswald, Germany, Sept. 13, 1860, and died Dec. 8, 1938 at the age of 78 years.
"She came to America in 1884. A short time later she was married to Charles F. Boelk of Stockton, Ill., where they made their home for about seven years. When coming to Iowa in 1892, they settled on a farm in Milford township, Story county, where they lived until 1909. At this time they purchased a farm in Richland township on which they made their home until the year 1920. Retiring from the farm they moved to Fernald where the husband and father preceded the mother in death on March 16, 1922.
"To this union were born nine children, five of whom are still living. They are Mrs. Elmer Prescott, Mrs. Everil Baker, and Frank Boelk, all of Nevada; Mrs. Aaron Fitch of Maxwell and Mrs. Wm. Neeld of Fernald.
"There are also eleven grand children and twelve great grand children surviving.
