Keith Alan Posegate was born August 9, 1951 to Lowell and Elaine Posegate in Ames, Iowa. He graduated from Roland High School in 1969 and continued his education at United Electronics Institute in Des Moines. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1971 and was stationed in Ft. Leonard Wood, MO; Denver, CO; and Nuremburg, Germany. Keith married Kay Britson in Germany in 1972 and they have two children, Jocelyn and Brooks.

Keith was employed at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids from 1975 to 1978. He joined the staff of Mary Greeley Medical Center in 1978 as a Biomedical Technician. It wasn’t long before he was not only a co-worker, but also a friend to all employees. In fact, his last name didn’t matter because everyone knew “Keith”. Keith retired in 2008 after 30 years of service.

Keith died September 5, 2013 at Israel Hospice House in Ames at 62 years of age.

Keith is survived by Kay Posegate of Oswego, IL; daughter, Jocelyn Posegate of Evanston, IL; son, Brooks Posegate of Menlo Park, CA; brothers, Dennis (Colleen) Posegate of Roland, Wayne (Cindy) Posegate of Loveland, CO and Darrel (Lorene) Posegate of Sioux Falls, SD; sister, Sylvia (Craig) Anderson of Roland; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
