IVER S. COOK
Iver S. Cook, 79 of Nevada, died Monday, April 4, 1983 at the Story County Long Term Care Center in Nevada.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 7 at the Ryan Funeral home in Nevada. Pastor Walter E. Lack of the Nevada Memorial Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be at the Nevada Cemetery.
There will also be Masonic services at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 6 at the Ryan Funeral Home.
Cook was born to Jesse A. and Annie (Shammo) Cook on July 2, 1903 in Nevada. He graduated from Nevada High School in 1922 and was married to Helen Crooks on July 21, 1930 in Nevada. He farmed near Fernald and in 1962 moved to Nevada. He was employed at the Atomic Energy Laboratory for 10 years before retiring in 1973.
Cook was affiliated with the Nevada Methodist Church and was a member of the Nevada Masonic Lodge No. 99 AF&M and Golden Kiwanis Club.
He is survived by his wife, Helen of Nevada; one son, Robert W. Cook of Ames; two brothers, J. Willard Cook of Roy, Utah and J. Merrill of Pella; three granddaughters, Donelle Cook of Ames, Denise Henderson of Nevada and Dana Cook of Toledo; and one great granddaughter, Julia Henderson.
Cook was preceded in death by one grandson.
