MRS. RASMUS SORENSEN
Mrs. Rasmus Sorensen, 78, passed away from a heart attack at her home at Nevada Wednesday evening.* Mrs. Sorensen, who had lived in Nevada since whe and her husband retired from the farm many years ago, was well and most favorably known in the city.
She was born at Fyn, Denmark, March 12, 1866.
As a young woman Mrs. Sorensen had worked at Webster City and Ames, going to Nevada when she was married to Rasmus Sorensen, March 22, 1994. They were married by Dr. A. B. Shrader, then pastor of Memorial Lutheran church, now retired and living in Kansas City.
The family home was on a farm just northwest of Nevada, where they lived until they retired and established their home in town.
Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Sorensen, one of whom died in infancy. The others are Harry Sorensen, farmer of near Nevada; Minnie, now Mrs. Oscar Strine of Anamosa; Clifford of Nevada and Mary and Herman at home.
She is also survived by four stepchildren. They are Sophia now Mrs. Mount Hansen of northwest of Nevada; Stena, now Mrs. Herman Gunder of Flushing, Long Island, N.Y.; and Peter and Frederick, farmers of near Nevada.
She also leaves 28 grandchildren and one great grandchild; the latter being little Billy Hansen of Nevada. The on ly other relatives are a nephew, Chris Anderson of Albert Lea, Minn., and a cousin, Mrs. Carl Peterson at Chocolate Bayou, Texas, at whose home she, with her daughter Miss Mary Sorensen, visited a year ago.
