L. S. Hanson dead at 65

Lester S. Hanson, 65, Nevada, died about 5:55 p.m. Tuesday at the Story County Hospital after an illness of several months.

Born at Collins he had been a Nevada resident for 24 years. He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. He was employed by the Iowa State Highway Commission at Ames for the past ten years.

He is survived by his wife, Leora; a daughter, Mrs. Howard Erickson, Cambridge, five sisters, Mrs. Mabel Stone of Nevada, Mrs. Harold Upstill of Gilbert, Mrs. N. A. Maritz of 1535 Maxwell Ave., Mrs. Margaret Lomax of Des Moines and Mrs. Minnie Heintz, Nevada; and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles, who died in 1964.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Ryan Funeral Home, Nevada, with the Rev. Robert Link, pastor, Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Nevada cemetery.
