Herbert Wilbur (Hub) Andrew
July 19, 1905 to Sept 26, 1997

Herbert Wilbur (Hub) Andrew, 92, of Nevada, died Friday, Sept 26, at Story County Long Term Care of heart failure.

He was born ato Peter Wilbur and Ida (Thayer) Andrew in Pulaski on July 19, 1905. He was a 1924 graduate of Belle Plain High School and attended Drake Univerity.

On Sept. 13, 1934, he married Marjorie C. Aldred. A longtime resident of Nevada, he was owner/operator of Andrew Oil Company in Nevada. He was a past master and 50-year memeber of the Nevada Masonic Lodge AF & AM 99; a member of the First United Methodist Church; a member of the Elk Lodge - PBOE in Ames; and a 50-year member of the Indian Creek Country Club. In 1986, he was honored as the Grand Marshall of Nevada's Lincoln Highway Days celebration.

Survivors include a son, Herbert, of Tokyo, Japan; two daughters, Jeanne Rodman, M.D., of Morgantown, W.Va., and Margaret Nady, of Nevada; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife on Jan. 13, 1987; one brother, Harold; and one sister, Helen.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept 29, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Nevada with Pastor James King officiating. Burial with Masonic rites by the Nevada Masonic Lodge AF & AM 99 was held at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the organization of the individual's choice or to the First United Methodist Church in Nevada. Chet Ryan Mortuary, Nevada, handled arrangements.
