GEORGE WILLIAM HANSEN

George William Hansen, 76, of 734 8th St., Nevada, Ia., died Wednesday, Dec 11, 1985, Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Ia., following an esophageal hemorrhage. He was ill 12 hours.

He was born at Nevada Jan. 8, 1909, to Montague and Sophie (Sorensen) Hansen. he was married to Jewel Irene McClellan April 12, 1930, at Marshallton, Ia.

Survivors include his wife, Irene, of the home; a son, William J. Hansen of Salem, Ore.; a daughter, Linda L. Chuba of Grand Rapids, Mich.; three grandsons, Jeffrey Hansen and John Hansen of Salem, Ore., and Michael Chuba of Grand Rapids, Mich.; two sisters, Gladys Hattery of Nevada and Mabel Alfred of Ames; a daughter-in-law, Pat Hansen of Salem, Ore., and a son-in-law, Pat Hansen of Salem, Ore. and a son-in-law, David Chuba of Grand Rapids, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Hansen was educated at Milford Township School and Milford High School. He was a Standard Oil agent in Nevada from 1945 to 1974. He was a member of Nevada United Methodist Church.

Funeral services will be at Nevada United Methodist Church Saturday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ernest Larson officiating. Burial will be in Nevada Cemetery.

Friends may call after noon Friday, Dec 13, at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 6th St. and G Ave., Nevada.
