Judith “Judy” Jennings, 73, of Rolling Green Village and formerly of Cambridge passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013 at the Israel Family House in Ames.

Judy was born June 27, 1940 at Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of George and Lila (Hoover) Gibbs. Judy graduated from Nevada High School in 1959. Judy was united in marriage to Ronald Jennings on October 10, 1959 in Nevada, Iowa. Ron preceded Judy in death on September 3, 2011. Judy worked at Hach Chemical for many years and retired in 1986. She was a member of the Cambridge United Methodist Church. Judy loved to sew, shop and enjoyed chocolate. She was known for her zest for life and her love for her poodles and birds.

Judy is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law: Scott and Deb Jennings of Nevada, Iowa, Michael “Mike” and Elisha Jennings of Knoxville, Iowa; a daughter and son-in-law: Ronda and John Biery of Collins, Iowa; five grandchildren: Ashley Jennings, Cole Jennings, Calvin Jennings, Shelby Biery, Amber Jennings; and one sister: Linda Howlett of Des Moines, Iowa.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ron; and her brother: Vic Gibbs.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Inurnment will be in the Cambridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cambridge United Methodist Church and to the Israel Family House.

The Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
