Patricia Lynn Vicker
October 17, 1948 - May 5, 2013

Lynn Emerson Vicker died suddenly on Sunday, May 5, 2013 due to a heart attack at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Lynn was born on October 17, 1948 to Martin J. and Irene M. (O'Brien) Emerson in Des Moines. Lynn lived in the Des Moines area until 1965 when her family moved to Creston, Iowa. Lynn graduated from Creston High School in 1967. She married Rod Vicker on March 21, 1970 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Creston. After living briefly in Cedar Falls and Tama, Rod and Lynn moved to Nevada, Iowa in 1978 and have lived there since.

Lynn was an amazing stay at home mother and wife. She was very active volunteering in a lot of her children's activities and her church. She was a proud Organ Donor, Girl Scout leader, director of junior and senior high religious education, music parent football concession stand coordinator, mentor, Habitat for Humanity coordinator among others. She was a loving Mother, doting grandmother, tireless volunteer, and inspiration to all. She loved spending time with all special friends and the Margarita 8. She will be missed.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents and in-laws. Lynn is survived by her loving husband Rod; children Melissa (Jerrod) Robinson of Granger, Rob (Amie) Vicker of Johnston, and Lisa (Cody) Eigenheer of Huntsville, Alabama; Grandchildren Zachary and Jordan Robinson, Emma and Sam Vicker, and Connor and Carter Eigenheer; Brother Joe (Nancy) Emerson of Des Moines, and Sister Connie of Gladstone, Oregon; eight nieces and nephews; many great-nieces and nephews; and a host of treasured friends.

A mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday May 10 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1110 11th Street in Nevada. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, May 9 again at the church followed by a brief Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Memorial Donations can be made to St. Patrick's Good Samaritan Fund or the Arthritis Foundation.
