Marilyn Joan Deupree
March 11, 1944 - March 13, 2013Marilyn Joan Deupree, 69 of Colo, died on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at her Colo home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 18 at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating. Burial will follow in the Colo Cemetery.
Marilyn was born on March 11, 1944 in Logan, Iowa to Ira and Viola (Flaherty) Allen. On August 18, 1961, she married Robert Edwin Deupree in Persia. Marilyn and Bob resided in Council Bluffs, Colo and Marshalltown. She was a member of the WO Club. Marilyn enjoyed reading, baking, shopping, and going out for lunch.
Marilyn is survived by her husband Robert Deupree; three daughters Pam (Merle) Wilson, Becky (David) Swanson, and Michelle (Coltin) Deupree, all of Colo; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three sisters Pauline Griffith, Karen Nuzem, both of Missouri Valley, and Maggie Bosanko of Texas.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her stepdad Herbert Swanger, a son Bryan Deupree on October 1, 1998, grandson Tanner, four brothers, three sisters, and a stillborn twin sister.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 17 with the family present from 2-4:00 p.m. again at Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.
A memorial fund has been established in loving memory of Marilyn for the American Cancer Society.
Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Marilyn and her family.
