Wayne H. Olinger
November 08, 1920 - March 15, 2013

Wayne H. Olinger, 92, of Nevada, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, at the Story County Medical Center in Nevada.

Wayne was born November 8, 1920, in rural Nevada to Howard and Lettie (Hakes) Olinger. He graduated from Milford High School in 1938 and was united in marriage to Helen Inglis on November 23, 1940, in Chillicothe, Missouri. Wayne owned and operated Nevada Ready Mix and farmed on the family farm. He enjoyed poker and coffee groups, fishing and being with his family.

Wayne is survived by his children: Dave (Sue) Olinger of Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Dean (Cindy) Olinger of Ames, Dan Olinger of Ames, DeLories Carsrud of Nevada, Mary (Ron) Pauley of LaGrange, Georgia, Janice (Jim) Cook of Zearing, and Harriet Flick of San Pedro, California; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen in 2007; his parents; a grandson, Wade Pauley; a grand-daughter, Allison Black; a son-in-law, Alton Carsrud; his brother, Marion Olinger; and two sisters, Mary Frisbie and Kathryn Olinger.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada with burial to follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Presbyterian Church in Nevada.

Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada is handling arrangements.
