From Adams & Soderstrum Funeral Home obituary, Story County, Iowa:

Jill I. Eckardt
August 26, 1953 - June 20, 2013

Jill Ilene Echelberger Eckardt, a woman of faith and of grace, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 20, 2013.

Jill, born on August 26, 1953, was the daughter of Robert and Clysta of Kamrar, Iowa. After graduating from Northeast Hamilton High School, Jill earned her degree in Chemistry from Iowa State University. She met her husband, Steve Eckardt, in Pampa, Texas. They were married on July 10, 1981. Steve and Jill began their life together in Texas where their daughters Beth and Whitney were born. They moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1987. Steve and Jill then moved their family to Webster City and have been active members of the community ever since.

Jill started her professional life as a chemist. She worked at Alcon in Texas and most recently as the director of operations at Boehringer Ingelheim, Riverside Plant in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
Jill loved spending time at Lake Okoboji with her family, running with her daughter, Beth; fishing with her daughter, Whitney; and anticipating her annual photo books from Heather. Steve and Jill loved traveling, especially to watch their favorite baseball team: the St. Louis Cardinals. However, nothing Jill did was ever as important as her relationship with Christ and sharing that love with others.

Jill’s spirit and grace will be most missed by her family. She is survived by her husband, Steve; her daughters: Beth of Auburn, Alabama; Whitney of Dexter, Iowa; step-daughter, Heather Albert (Brian) of Kingwood, Texas; her darling grandchildren: Jaxton, Laney, Isaiah, Nicholas, and Bryson; her parents, Robert and Clysta Echelberger of Kamrar, Iowa; her sisters: Jan Neubauer (Tony) of Blairsburg, Iowa; Joy Randle of Everly, Iowa; Jeri Babb (Ron) of Des Moines, Iowa; and Joni Thornton (David) of West Des Moines, Iowa; and mother-in-law, Betty Burton of Evansville, Indiana. She will also be missed by her many other cousins, nieces, and nephews and in-laws.

Jill was a member of the Missionary Alliance Church in Blairsburg, and in lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials to be sent to the church, Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa, or the American Cancer Society.

“Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.” Proverbs 31:28
