Alice Haugland
Oct. 17, 1917, to Nov. 16, 1991

Alice Haugland, 74, of Nevada died from complications of Alzheimer's Disease at the Long Term Care Center of Story County Hospital in Nevada.

She was born to Thomas J. and Mary (Nelson) Thompson at Story City. She was bpatized and confirmed at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City. On Dec. 16, 1936, she married Arnold Haugland, and the couple resided southeast of Story City in Milford Township before moving to Nevada in December of 1961. They were members of Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada.

Survivors include her husband, Arnold of Nevada; four daughters, Patricia Cirksena of Ankeny, Margaret Tjaden of Charles City, Cynthia Williamson of Nevada and Kathleen Tichenor of Nevada; one sister, Mildred Hermanson of Story City; two brothers, Alvin Thompson of Westminister, Calif., and Leonard Thompson of Story City, 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Elizabeth Buck; on infant; one sister, Alice Thompson; and two brothers, Clarence and Ted Thompson.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada with the Rev. Forrest Chaffee officiating. Burial followed in the Story City Cemetery.
