Mrs. Bertha Laue died Wednesday

Mrs. Bertha Marie Laue, 78, 136 Campus Ave., died at Mary Greeley Hospital June 2 about 10 p.m. She had been in ill health for the past two years.

Funeral services will be Monday at St. George's Episcopal Church in Kansas City with the Rev. George G. Swanson of the church officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery at Kansas City, Mo.

Mrs. Laue, born April 20, 1893 in Topeka, Kan., came to Ames two years ago.

She graduated from Scarritt College in Kansas City, Mo. in 1918 and entered social work. Mrs. Laue worked for the Italian Mission, the Provident Assn. and the Richard Cabot Club Clinic all of Kansas City.

She was a charter member of the American Assn. of Social Workers.

She moved to Iowa in 1933 and served as county director for Clinton Co. In 1935, she became assitant director and later director of Relief for Polk County. In 1942, she joined the Red Cross Narional Office in St. Louis, Mo. and later that year, returned to Kansas City as director of Home Service for the Kansas City and Jackson Co. chapter of the American Red Cross.

She was married to Arthur A. Laue of Kansas City, Mo. June 2, 1924.

She was a former member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Kansas City, Mo. and now a member of the Episcopal Parish in Ames.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Richard Knisely, 322 Hilltop Road and two grandsons.

A memorial fund has been established. Gifts will be given to the St. George's Memorial Fund.

The Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
