Fred H. Logsdon died here today
Fred H. Logsdon, 73, 1805 Duff Ave., died about 8:30 a.m. today at Mary Greeley Hospital. He had been ill for the past several weeks.
Born at Dow City, he came to Ames in 1914 to attend Iowa State University. He owned and operated the Logsdon Dairy until 1949. A guernsey cattle breeder he was a lifetime member of the American Guernsey Cattle Club. He was a member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, the Dairy Shrine Club, the Elks Lodge and the Ames Golf and Country Club.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice; two brothers, Birl of Walnut Creek, Calif. and Leslie of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Bertrude Glassburner of Dunlap and Mrs. Bertha Drake of Wapello and his stepmother, Mrs. Kess Logsdon of Riverside Manor. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. from Bethesda Lutheran Church, 1517 Northwestern Ave., with the Rev. Carl F. Schatlauer Jr. and the Rev. O. M. Severseike officiating. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Adams Funeral Home until noon Thursday.
A memorial fund has been established. Gifts may be left at the First National Bank.
