Johnson rites at Story City

Mrs. Matilda Johnson, 82, formerly of Story City, died Sunday morning* at the Grand Avenue Nursing Home in Ames.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Bethel Lutheran Church in Story City with the Rev. William Greggerson officiating. Burial will be in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 21, 1889 west of Story City to Andrw H. and Sarah Jacobson Johnson and on Dec 2, 1910 married Theodore Johnson. From 1944 to 1954, Mrs. Johnson was employed at Iowa Lutheran Hospital, Des Moines.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Doris Peterson, Des Moines; four sons, Truman of Ankney, Arnold of 1112 Durtiss Ave., Jonas of Sacramento, Calif., and Lu Verne, Wanamingo, Minn.; 16 grandchildren and a half brother, Theroy Jacobson, Story City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Theodore; a half-sister and two sons.

The Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
