Martin Hanson died today

Martin C. Hanson, 77, 123 E. Ninth St., died about 3 a.m. today at the Story City Hospital where he had been a patient for the past month.

Born in Hamilton Co., he was a deputy sheriff and sheriff of Story County for many years, he had been employed by the State Tax Commission.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tillie*, in 1961.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. from the St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City with the Rev. George C. Strum officiating. Burial will be at Story City Cemetery.

The body will lie in state at Larson Funeral Home, Story City, until noon, Monday.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Stella Idse and Agnes Hanson, and three brothers, Hans and Elmer C., all of Story City and William, of Creston.
