Orlene M. Twedt

Orlene M. Twedt, 92, of Lakeville, Minnesota and formerly of Farmington and Faribault, Minnesota, passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2004 at Burnsville, after deteriorating health over the past six months. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 1 at 11 a.m. at the Farmington Lutheran Church in Farmington. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Interment was held at the Story City Cemetery in Story City, Iowa.

Orlene was born to Oscar and Grace (Thompson) Twedt on Aug. 22, 1912 in Roland, Iowa. He married Lillian S. Thompson in 1935 in Oskaloosa. They moved to Faribault in 1963. Orlene worked for the Williams Brothers Pipeline in Iowa, Faribault, and Rosemount for over 35 years. After retirement, Orlene was fortunate to be able to spend winters in the Florida condo until last year.

Survivors include his son, Larry (Barbara) Twedt of Faribault, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Gregg (Jennifer) Twedt of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, Mark Twedt of Rochester, Minnesota, Kellie (Brian) Lundquist of Chanhassen, Minnesota, and Brad Twedt of Faribault, Minnesota; four great-grandchildren, Jordan and Lily Anne Lunduist and John and Sara Twedt; a niece, Sandee (Gil) Overson of Excelsior, Minnesota; and his special friend Evelyn Helgestad of Burnsville, Minnesota, whom he spent time with over the last six years; four nephews and several grandnieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Sylvia Twedt of Story City and Hazel Marsh of Wayzata, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian, who passed away 11 years ago after 58 years of marriage; one son, Phil; a brother Amil Twedt, a sister, Helen (Ed) Eller; nephew, Alan Twedt, and brother-in-law, Jay Marsh.
