BLOYD IVERSON

Bloyd Iverson, son of Iver B. and Aletta Iverson, was born June 1, 1909, on a farm near Stanhope, and died Aug. 16 in Ames. He was 54.

He was baptized at Lake Center Lutheran Church and Confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at Stanhope. He was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church of Ames at the time of his death.

He attended a rural school in Hamilton County and graduated from Stanhope High School with the class of 1927.

He was married to Bertha Tjernagel at Dixon, Ill. on Sept 6, 1934. They had two sons, Roger and Norman.

He operated the family farm south of Stanhope for several years. In 1955 he moved with his family to Ames, where he was employed with the Iowa State Highway Commisssion. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Norman. Surviving are his wife, Bertha; his son, Roger, Des Moines; three sisters, Irene Iverson, Marshalltown, Mrs. Thora Leonard, Story City, and Mrs. Alvina Mattes, Des Moines, and his nieces and nephew, Kate, Emily and Jed Mattes of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held Aug 19, form St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City, with the Rev. W. K. Benbow officiating. Burial was in the Story City cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ingolf Brekke, Erwin Hove, Leslie Hove and Elmer Snyder, all of Stanhope; Raleigh Rasmussen and Helmer Satre, Ames.

Honorary pallbearers were Billy Brown, Glenn Fellows, Milford Handeland, Melvin Jenkins, Walter Matson, Howard Rude, Clifford Soren and Porter Vold.
