Sandra Kay Omundson, 66 of Nevada died on Friday, February 8, 2013 at the Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 11 at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating.

Sandy was born on September 10, 1946 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames to Dale W. and Dorothy Jayne (Mason) Sills. She was a 1964 graduate of Nevada High School and attended Ellsworth College and DMACC. Sandy was a certified medical assistant at McFarland Clinic in Ames.

Left to cherish her memory are a son Kane E. Omundson and a daughter Kam Omundson-Leach, all of Ames; four grandchildren Sadie Omundson, Jaden Moore, Josslyn Leach, and Kade Omundson; two sisters Sharon (Richard) Christie of Urbandale and Sheryl (Vince) Olson of Nevada.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Terry Sills.

A memorial fund has been established in loving memory of Sandy.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Sandy and her family.
