Helen Loretta Robinson, 99 of Nevada died on Friday, February 1, 2013 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5 at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada with Pastor Kevin Leveck officiating. Burial will follow in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Helen was born on September 14, 1913 in Shipley to Vinton I. and Darmer (Jensen) Appelgate. On December 15, 1938, she married Clayton Robert Robinson at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Helen partnered with her husband in the family farming business. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada. Helen enjoyed painting, cooking, caring for other people, playing bridge and traveling. She often commented about their travels to the end of the road in Alaska.

Helen is survived by a brother-in-law, Virgil Robinson of Barefoot Bay, FL; sisters-in-law, Shirley Robinson of Colo and Opal Wilson of Prairie City; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clayton on November 20, 2003, two brothers Claude and Donald Appelgate and two sisters Verda and Vivian.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service again at the Mortuary.

Memorials may be directed to the Colo Public Library in loving memory of Helen.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Helen and her family.
