Sansgaard rites will be Tuesday

James Sansgaard, 71, Story City, died at his home about 8:30 p.m., Friday. He was born on a farm six miles west of Story City and had been a farmer all of his life.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from St. Paul's Lutheran Church, northwest of Story City, with the Rev. Enoch Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Lydia; three sons, Reuben of Story City, Ernest of Kanawaha and Richard of Eugene, Ore.; two daughters, Mrs. Esther Palmer, Santa Anna, Calif. and Mrs. Janet Larson, Story City; two brothers: Svdrup Sansgaard, Story City and Selmer Sansgaard, Keister, Minn.; two sisters: Mrs. Jacob Hoverstien, Glendale, Calif., and Mrs. Joseph West, Story City.

Larson Funeral Home will in charge of services, the body will lie in state at the funeral home until time of services Tuesday.

Funeral services for James Sansgaard were held from Larson Funeral Home in Story City and from St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Enoch Hall officiating. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Arnold Sansgaard, LaVerne Sansgaard, Ivan Sansgaard, Floyd West, Truman West, and Arthur Lund.

Mr. Sansgaard was born on a Hamilton County farm March 16, 1891, and married Lydia Durby of Roland on April 16, 1921. Except for the some time spent in the service during World War I, he spent his entire life on a farm northwest of Story City.

Mr. Sansgaard, who died at his home on Sept. 18, was preceded in death by two infant sons and by three brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his wife Lydia; five children, James Sansgaard of Kanawha, Reuben Sansgaard and Mrs. Jeannette Larson of Story City, Richard Sansgaard of Eugene, Ore., and Mrs. Charles Palmer of Santa Ana, Calif.; eight grandchildren and two brothers and two sisters, Sverdrup Sansgaard and Mrs. Joseph West of Story City, Selmer Sansgaard of Keister, Minn., and Mrs. Jacob Hoversten of Glendale, Calif.
