LYDIA M. SANSGAARD

Lydia M. Sansgaard, 88, of Story City IA, died Thursday, March 10, 1988 at Bethany Manor Nursing Home in Story City where she had lived since 1981. Death was due to pneumonia.

Funeral services were at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 14, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in rural Jewell IA with Rev. Lloyd Welland officiating. Burial will be at Story City Municipal Cemetery at Story City.

Mrs. Sansgaard was born at Roland IA to Peder and Maren Borwick Durby. On April 6, 1921, she was married the James Sansgaard. He died Sept. 18, 1964.

Survivors include three sons, Reuben of Story City, Ernest of Lincoln NE and Rev. Richard Sansgaard of Decorah IA; two daughters, Esther Palmer of Santa Ana, CA and Jeanette Larson of Story City; 13 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Duea of Roland, Berniece Caltvedt of Story City and Palma Beatty of Marshalltown IA, and two brothers, Lawrence Durby of Stanhope IA and Ben Durby of Roland.
