Born Lornetta Pauline Kuhlman on January 10, 1923, at Colo, Iowa, she was the daughter of George and Sadie (Thake) Kuhlman. She graduated from the St. Anthony High School in 1939.
On September 17, 1941, she was united in marriage to Louis Nolta in Trenton, Missouri. They farmed near State Center all of their married lives and she was employed at Donnelly’s in Nevada for over 20 years.
Mrs. Nolta was a baptized and confirmed member of St. John's Lutheran Church, a member of the Ladies Aid and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed traveling with Louis, sewing, crafts, gardening, working on the farm but most of all treasured her family—especially the grandkids and great-grandkids.
Left to cherish her memory is Louis, her loving husband of 71 years; her children: Sandi (the late Dan) Kellen of Ames, and Stan (Nancy) Nolta of State Center; grandchildren: Chief Warrant Officer Jeff (Kimberly) Kellen of Nevada, and Andee (Jolene) Nolta of State Center; five precious great-grandchildren: Daniel, Joel, and Eva Kellen, and Gracey and Haley Nolta; her sister: Sharon (Lowell) Kasischke of Hubbard, sister-in-law Myrtis Kuhlman (the late Caryl) of State Center, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In death, Lornetta rejoined her parents, sister and brother-in-law Arlene and Walt Hoing, brother and sister-in-law Clair and Lydia Kuhlman, brother Caryl Kuhlman, son-in-law Dan Kellen, and her infant twin great-grandchildren Cora and Casandra Kellen.
