Pioneer Story City Man Died Early Today

Story City, Oct. 19--Michas Henderson, 74, member of one of the pioneer families of southern Hamilton and northwestern Story counties, died at his home here early today as a result of a heart attack which had confined him to his bed but two days.

Born on the old Henderson farmstead near Randall north of here in Hamilton county, he attended the public schools there and grew to manhood.

He was for many years manager of the municipal electric light and power company here but left in 1917 for Jewell where he had purchased the electric plant. This he managed until 1927 whe he retired from active business life and moved back to Story City. It was here that Mrs. Henderson died in 1930.

They left daughters Mrs. Cosette Marvick of Clarement, Cal., Sara Henderson and Mrs. Wes Stott both of Minneapolis and sons Rexford Henderson of Brawley, Calif., Herbert Henderson of Cedar Rapids adn Malcomb Henderson of Zanesville, Ohio.

He also leaves three brothers, A. M. Henderson of Story City, Judge O. J. Henderson of Webster City and Alex Henderson of Ames and sisters Mrs. E. L. Ericson of Story City, Mrs. Guy Sowers of Randall and Mrs. O. B. Olson of Randall.

Funeral arrangements await word from the various children who are expected to be here for the services.

Henderson Funeral Services Tuesday

Story City, Oct. 21 -- Funeral services for Michas Henderson, 74, longtime resident of this community, who died at his home here early Saturday, will be held Tuesday afternoon.

The services will be held at the family home here at 1:30, with Rev. Iver Havneros of Mable, Minn., a close friend of the family in charge. Burial will be in the family lot in the Story City cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the home from 9 a. m. until 1 p. m., for friends who wish to call.

Children Arrive to Attend Funeral of Their Father

Special to the Journal:
Story City, Oct 22--Malcolm Henderson of Zanesville, O., arrived here Sunday morning and his sister, Mrs. Cosette Marvick, arrived here Monday night from Claremont, Calif., called by the death of their father, M. Henderson, who passed away early Wednesday morning.
