Bert Hill of Story City Dies

STORY CITY--Bert S. Hill, 71, died at 3 a.m. Thursday at his home here after a short illness.

He had lived in the Story City Community all his life. He was co-owner and operator of the Story City Buttertub Co.

Mr. Hill was chief of the volunteer fire department many years, was president of the Community Club, served on the community council, was active in church work and at one time was on the board of the hospital here. He also served on other civic boards and committees.

He is survived by his wife, Emma; sons Charles, Beloit, Wis., and Harris, Story City; two grandshildren; three brothers--Sanford, San Francisco; Edwin, Madison, Wis., and Torkel, Story City, the latter his business partner; six sisters--Mrs. Tom B. (Martha) Olson, Story City; Mrs. Carrie Indreland, Story City and Marie Hill, Webster City; Mrs. Byron (Jennie) Coulter, Washington, D. C.; Selma Hill, Findley, Ohio; and Judith Hill, Des Moines.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Petri Lutheran Church with the Rev. Ocee Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Story City cemetery.
