Billie Joe McIntire
January 15, 1932 - May 14, 2011

Billie Joe McIntire passed away on Saturday May 14, 2011 at the Story County Medical Center with his loving family by his side. A memorial visitation will be held at Chet Ryan Mortuary on Tuesday May 17, 2011 from 5-7p.m. Memorial services will be at the First United Methodist Church in Nevada on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Leveck officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in the Woodland Cemetery in Iowa Center.

Billie Joe was born on January 15, 1932 in Bethleham, Wayne County, Iowa to Carl "Joe" E. and Leona P. (Markley) McIntire. He was a 1950 graduate of Maxwell High School. On March 11, 1951, Bill married Doris Mae Hill in Nevada. He retired after 39 years as a manager in the mechanic division at Reuben H. Donnelley Corp. Billie Joe was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada. He enjoyed woodworking and traveling to visit his family.

Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Doris M. McIntire of Nevada; 4 daughters, Rita (Mark) Myers of Pleasant Hill, Rhonda Goosic of Altoona, Roberta (Carey) Eller of Cedar Falls, and Rebecca (Buddy) Redling of Ellison Bay, WI; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a brother James (MaryAnn) McIntire of Nevada; five sisters, Florene Gamble of West Des Moines, Donna Young, Marilyn (Max) Klinger, Betty (Nile) Beymer, and Linda Mousel, all of Nevada.

Billie Joe was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Florence Vincent, and 3 brothers, Erwin, Dean, and Chuck McIntire.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17 from 5-7 p.m. at the Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bill's name for Iowa Hospice.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Bill and his family.
