Mark Andreas Rasmussen
March 18, 1927 - March 2, 2012

Mark Andreas Rasmussen, 84 of rural Nevada died on Friday, March 2, 2012 at his residence. Per Mark's wishes, his body has been cremated and burial of the cremains will be held in the Hazelwood Cemetery in Grinnell at a later date.

Mark was born on March 18, 1927 in Grinnell to Sam I. and Rachel (Hovik) Rasmussen. He was a 1945 graduate of Grinnell High School. Mark served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. On August 19, 1948, he was united in marriage to Leta F. Mullins in Grinnell. Mark was a devoted farmer.

Mark is survived by three children, Lloyd (Helen) Rasmussen of Colo, Louise (Ric) Hougland of Plano, IA, and LeRoy (Chris) Rasmussen of Nevada; six grandchildren Ben and Tyler Rasmussen, Ryan and Reed Rasmussen, Ericka Bouma and Megan Hougland; and one great-grandchild Makenzie.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Leta on November 8, 1997, three sisters, Dena, Marie and Anna Marie, six brothers, Sevrin, George, Ted, Gus, Robert, and John.

A memorial fund has been established in loving memory of Mark.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Mark and his family.
