Kermit DuWayne Lenning
July 27, 1928 - March 7, 2012

Kermit DuWayne Lenning, 83 of Nevada died on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Story County Medical Center in Nevada. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 17 in Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada with Pastor David Burling officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Kermit was born on July 27, 1928 in rural Roland to Kurneal and Emily (Holm) Lenning. On February 5, 1950, he married Joan M. Cooper at the Little Brown Church. Kermit was a farmer in the McCallsburg area and employed by Story Construction. He enjoyed woodworking and being with family.

Kermit is survived by his wife Joan Lenning of Nevada; 2 daughters, Julie Scott of Reno, TX and Gale Lenning-Lingenfelter (Willie) of Nevada; a daughter-in-law Toni Lenning of Nevada;11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister Dorothy Peter of Story City.

Kermit was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter Betty Anne, a son David Lenning on March 15, 2010, a brother Jerry Lenning and a cousin Leo Johnson.

A memorial fund has been established in loving memory of Kermit.

Chet Ryan Mortuary of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Kermit and his family.
