Clyde H. Martin

July 9, 1931 - December 7, 2010
Altoona, Iowa

Clyde Harley Martin, 79, of Altoona passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

Clyde was born July 9, 1931, at Marshalltown to Ray and Marian (Petersen) Martin. He graduated from Maxwell High School in 1948. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1948-1950. Clyde was a farmer and retired from the Farmer's Elevator in Altoona in 2005.

Clyde is survived by his sons, Ray (Jami) of Runnells and Rex Martin of Des Moines; his sister, Mary (James) Birchmier of Collins; two grandchildren, William and Elizabeth; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Clyde's wishes, he has been cremated. A memorial visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, December 10, 2010, at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell.

Memorial contributions may be made to Childserve in Johnston.
