Maxwell, IowaLarry “Duffer” Robert Kerr, 63, of Maxwell, passed away June 11, 2011, at Bright Kavanagh Hospice House in Des Moines.
Larry was born October 3, 1947, in Des Moines to Glen Robert “Bob” and Margaret “Bill” (Killen) Kerr. He married Sharon Cleveland on November 21, 1989, in Galena, Illinois. He worked for John Deere as a receiving clerk for 30 years. Larry was a member of the Masonic Lodge and U.A. W. He enjoyed a good conversation, living a simple life and loved his grandchildren.
Larry is survived by his wife, Sharon Kerr of Maxwell; his son, Jeff Kerr of Des Moines; three step-sons, Dennis, David and Kevin; two step-daughters, Robin and Lisa; three grandchildren, Patrick, Alex and Miranda; 18 step-grandchildren; four step-great grandchildren; two brothers, Mike and Jimmy; two sisters, Nancy and Jane; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one step-son.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2011, at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell with burial to follow at Elkhart Cemetery. Visitation with family present will be 6-8 p.m. Wednesday evening also at the Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Larry Kerr Memorial Fund.
