Ronald Guy Jennings

Cambridge, Iowa

Ronald Guy Jennings, 75, of Cambridge, died Saturday, September 3, 2011, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa.

Ronald was born April 12, 1936 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Guy and Kathryn (McHone) Jennings. He graduated from Cambridge High School in 1954 and was a lifelong resident of Cambridge. He was united in marriage to Judith "Judy" Gibbs on October 10, 1959 in Nevada, Iowa. Ronald served for 33 years in the Air National Guard and retired in 1985. He then worked until 1997 for Iowa State University. He was a member of the Cambridge United Methodist Church and the Cambridge American Legion Post #233.. He raised miniature parrots, enjoyed NASCAR, and loved hunting and fishing.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Judy, of Cambridge, IA; two sons: Scott (Deb) Jennings of Nevada,IA, Michael "Mike" (Elisha) Jennings of Cambridge, IA; one daughter: Ronda (John) Biery of Collins, IA; five grandchildren; one brother: Terry Jennings of Cambridge, IA; and one sister: Earline Sydnes of Nevada, IA.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and his step-father, Reuben Larson.

Memorial Services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Inurnment will be in the Cambridge Cemetery. Military Honors will be given by Cambridge American Legion, Post #233.

Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cambridge United Methodist Church and/or to the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

The Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada is handling arrangements.
