September 23, 1921 - July 24, 2011
Obituary

Phyllis Mulder, 89, of Story City and formerly from Ann Arbor, Michigan, died July 24, 2011 at Bethany Manor in Story City. A memorial service will be held on July 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethany Manor Chapel in Story City, with Chaplain Sandy Anenson officiating. A graveside service will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Ann Arbor, M, at a later date.

Phyllis Mulder was born September 23, 1921 in Sioux Center, Iowa to Henry T. and Maggie DeBoer. She married Harlan J.
Mulder on July 26, 1946.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ann Arbor, MI, where she taught Sunday school and cooked for the community meals. She was a community volunteer, delivering motor meals, working at the Ann Arbor thrift shop and as a Girl Scout leader. She was a member of the University Faculty Women's Club, Ann Arbor Women's City Club, Huron Valley Swim Club, Ann Arbor Golf and Outing Club, and Ann Arbor P.E.O. Chapter G.

She is survived by a daughter, Kristin (Thomas) Jurik, of Ames, and their daughters, Kelsi Jurik of Bondurant, and Jodi Jurik, of Ames; a son, Jon Mulder of Belleville, MI, and his children, Jennifer, Jeffrey, and Dawn Mulder of MI; two great grandchildren, Jared, and Alexis ; a sister, Harriet Vermeer, of Sioux Center; two sisters-in-law, Genevieve Dahlke, of Williamston, MI, and Lorrayne Mulder, of Ann Arbor, MI; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on September 22, 1987; three brothers, James, Everett "Bud", and Robert DeBoer; and her sister, Florence Nykamp.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Cancer Society, or Bethany Manor of Story City, IA, or First Presbyterian Church of Ann Arbor, MI.
