Margaret J. McWilliams
February 24, 1917 - October 28, 2011
Obituary

Margaret J. McWilliams passed away October 28, 2011 at the age of 94. She was born February 24, 1917 in Russell, Iowa, the daughter of Homer and Alice E. Tinkham Jeffries. On September 14, 1940 she married Richard M. McWilliams in Corvallis, Oregon.

Mrs. McWilliams was a 1934 graduate of Russell High School and a 1939 graduate of Iowa State University. She was a member of the Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames, the I.S.U. Alumni Association, the P.E.O. Sisterhood and Chapter BI of the TTT. She had been an active volunteer with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, the Y.W.C.A. and was an active worker and elder in her church. She taught school for one year in Palmer, Iowa and 5 years at Quincy Senior High.

Survivors are two sons: Dick (Julie) McWilliams, IA; Jim (Sharon) McWilliams, VA; two daughters; Cathy (Tom) Campagna, Va; M. Ann (Jim) Moorman, IL and daughter-in-law Jacque McWilliams, WI. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one sister, Jane (Art) Schafroth, OR. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick, son Paul, her parents, her brother Howard and two sisters; Mabeth and Catherine.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday, November 1st at 2 P.M. at the Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames, Iowa. The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church. Inurnment will be Wednesday Nov. 2 at 10:30 A.M. at West Lawn Cemetery, Lehigh, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Collegiate Presbyterian Church in Ames, Iowa or the Y.W.C.A. in Quincy, IL.
