Ida Viola Peterson

BORN: September 13, 1912

DIED: January 2, 2011

LOCATION: Kelley, Iowa

Ida Viola Peterson, 98, of Kelley, passed from this life on January 2, 2011 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 6, at Soderstrum Riis Funeral Home, Slater. Funeral services are 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 7 at Bethany Lutheran Church, Kelley. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery.

Ida was born September 13, 1912 on the home farm near Huxley to Olai and Enger (Savereid) Maland. She was baptized and confirmed at Palestine Lutheran Church near Huxley. She was a graduate of Huxley High School. She married Lyle Peterson December 14, 1933 at Palestine Lutheran Church.

She is survived by five children, Vernon (Beverly) Peterson of Akeley, MN; Virginia (Carl) Anderson of Ames; Orrie Peterson of Cambridge, Carole (John) Harmon of Polk City; and Sandra Boresi of Maxwell; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two grandsons; five brothers and three sisters.
