Florence A. Anderson

BORN: July 21, 1918
DIED: March 12, 2011
LOCATION: Randall, Iowa

Florence Arlene (Hanson) Anderson, the daughter of Joel and Hilda (Johnson) Hanson was born July 21, 1918 in Stanhope, Iowa. She passed away at the Stratford Care Center on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the age of 92.

Florence was confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in rural Jewell. She graduated from Stanhope Consolidated High School in 1937.

On December 24, 1937 she was united in marriage to Arnold O. Anderson of Randall, Iowa. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker. Florence was a faithful member of Elim Lutheran Church in Randall where she enjoyed helping with Selskap and Ladies Aid. She was an avid Cubs fan, active in Randall PTA, and loved her flowers.

Survivors include her five children, DeWayne (Sylvia) Anderson of Omaha, Nebraska, Richard (Hannah Ann) Anderson of Jewell, Betty Ann Elsberry of Boone, Iowa, Dennis (Sara) Anderson of Carroll, Iowa, and Darrell (Deb) Anderson of Gilbert, Iowa; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law, Grace Benson and Delores Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Herman Anderson and Orin Anderson; her sister Myrtle Barkema; her granddaughter Jennifer; and her great-grandson Ryan.
