Alvin "Bud" Twedt
BORN: December 20, 1922
DIED: March 27, 2011
LOCATION: McCallsburg, IowaAlvin "Bud" Curtis Twedt was born December 20, 1922 to Hiriam and Gertie (Arneson) Twedt in Roland, Iowa. He graduated McCallsburg High School in 1940 and served in the United States Marine Corps. Bud and Ruth Elaine Vespestad were married on November 29, 1952 at Bergen Lutheran Church. Bud was a farmer in the McCallsburg area until his retirement. He was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church, the McCallsburg American Legion where he was a past commander, served on the McCallsburg Coop Board, was a 4-H leader, enjoyed fishing, attending sporting events, and loved being with people.
Bud passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames, Iowa at 88 years of age.
Bud is survived by his wife Elaine of McCallsburg; his sons Alan (Jamye) Twedt of Branson, Missouri and Mark (Angie) Twedt of Rockwell, Iowa; his daughter Ranae (Jon) Collier of Paragould, Arkansas; his grandchildren Erin (Adam) Dolin, Alaina (Quitin) Schaffer, Katharine Twedt, Taylor Twedt, and Peyton Twedt; his brother Paul (Patti) Twedt of Ames; his sisters Olive Sampson of Story City, Shirley Woster of Zearing, Iowa, Charlotte (Paul) Frandson of Florida, and Mary Ann Tjelmeland of Illinois; and his sisters-in-law Pam (Dave) Danger of Garden City, Iowa, Roberta Twedt of Nevada, Iowa, and Bev Twedt of Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Harlan Twedt and Darwin Twedt; his infant sister Charlotte Twedt; and brothers-in-law Askel Sampson, Virgil Woster, and Wayne Tjelmeland.
