Raymond Reinsch

DIED: April 7, 2011
LOCATION: Las Vegas, Nevada

Ray was born Nov. 14, 1921, to Fred and Elva (Baldus) Reinsch in Gilbert. He joined the army in 1942 and was discharged in February 1946. He spent some of his time in Germany during World War II. Including his time served with the Army National Guard, he was a 21 year military man and very proud of it. He retired with the rank of CWO3. He was employed by the Iowa Department of Transportation for 36 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 37 of Ames and the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church of Las Vegas, Nev. He and his wife thoroughly enjoyed 26 years of retirement in Las Vegas with many fun things to do.

On Jan. 1, 1944, in Fort Campbell, Ky., he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Rosalyn Thede.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Roselyn; children, Connie (Greg), Ewing, of Leon, Steven (Becky) Reinsch, of Sioux City, Dennis (Julie) Reinsch, of Ames, and Lorrie (Marc) Reinsch-Boothby, of Moville, but currently working for the Army in Mililani, Hawaii; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Clea (Frank) Gallup, of Independence; brother, Maurice (Carol) Reinsch, of Sherman, Texas; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; two sisters; grandson, T. J. Reinsch; and granddaughter, Tiffany Ewing.
