Patricia Lee Britson

BORN: April 13, 1928
DIED: April 23, 2011
LOCATION: Mount Pleasant, Iowa

Patricia Lee Britson was born on April 13, 1928 in Nevada, Iowa, to Mac and Ina Allen. She met Loren Britson after his return from WWII and they were married on December 1, 1946. Pat and Loren spent their first year of marriage in California and then returned to Roland where they raised a family and spent their remaining years together. They were members of the Bergen Lutheran Church.

Pat spent most of her career as Office Manager at the Newbrough Law Firm in Ames. During that time, she was also a member of the Soroptimist organization in Ames and remained active in the Bergen Church and Wa-tan-ye following her retirement. She especially loved spending time with her many treasured friends.

Pat passed away on April 23, 2011 at Arbor Court in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa at the age of 83 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Survivors include son Kenny Britson (Cleta); daughter Cindy Severson (Kent); daughter Kay Posegate; grandchildren Scott Severson, Erica Wallace, Jocelyn Posegate, and Brooks Posegate; and great-grandchildren Owen Severson and Landry Wallace. She is also survived by sister Anne Wakefield (John) and sister-in-law La Donna Allen.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Loren, her parents Mac and Ina Allen, and her brother Bill Allen.
