Linda Gerry McHose
March 3, 1942 - June 13, 2012

Linda Gerry McHose, 70 of Nevada died on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. A Wake will be held from 4:30-7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15 at the Story County Medical Center, 640 South 19th Street in Nevada.

Linda was born on March 3, 1942 in Kewanee, IL to Israel and Dorothy (Adelman) Abramson. She grew up in Aurora, IL. Linda graduated from the University of Iowa with a master degree in social work. On May 16, 1964, she married Don C. McHose in Rock Island, IL. She was employed at care facilities from Marshall and Boone counties along with Story County. Linda retired from Story County Medical Center on September 29, 2011. She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Tuesday Bridge Club, the Ames Community Theatre, and numerous professional associations. Linda was an avid reader.

Linda is survived by her husband Don C. McHose of Nevada; children Randy McHose of Atlanta, GA, Robin McHose of Boone, David Dunn of Hallandale Beach, FL, Michael Dunn of Nevada, Scott Dunn of Omaha, NE, and Patrick Dunn of Conover, NC; five grandchildren Nina McHose, Lori Soto, Melissa Soto, Rianna Dunn and Ryan Dunn; and a brother Jim Abramson of Port St. Lucie, FL.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents.

In lieu of flowers, a memory fund has been established in loving memory of Linda for the Story County Medical Center Foundation.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Linda and her family.
