Brown, a space of about 30 years' time.
Of Mrs. Day's parents' family, but one sister is alive, Mrs. Sapp who lives in Oregon, and who is Chas. Sapp's mother.
Mrs. Day joined the joined the Methodist church about 28 years ago and remained in the faith until her death.
The funeral service was held at the West Point School House Friday, Rev. Baker of the Collins M. P. church presiding and preaching the sermon. A large number of the old neighbors and friends of the departed were present. The interment was at the Day Cemetery. The pall bearers were old neighbors and friends of the Day family; Chas. Dodd, P. A. Kitchell, Hugh Graef, Ira Campbell, Wm. McCleese and Zac Elliott.
The deceased was one of the pioneer mothers of Story county. Few families in the Day neighborhood but are related to her. In the early settlement of Story county the Jackson day home was well known and many a meeting of friends was gathered there to make the hours pass happily away. Mrs. Day was then a central figure and her death is mourned by many of our readers. She was a noble good woman and has entered into her rest and reward.
