BORN: August 18, 1925

DIED: September 28, 2011

LOCATION: Slater, Iowa

Wilma Joan Kaltenheuser, 86, formerly of Slater, passed away September 28, 2011 at Mill Pond, Ankeny, Iowa

Wilma was born August 18, 1925 in Cambridge, Iowa to Tollen and Ella (Larson) Engen. She graduated from Cambridge High School and married Edward R. Kaltenheuser December 24, 1945 in Slater, Iowa. Wilma was a lifelong resident of Story County. As a farmer's wife and homemaker they lived in rural Story County. She worked as a Preliminary Road Designer for the Iowa Department of Transportation.

Wilma is survived by her three children, Nancy (Duane) Tiefenthaler, of Ankeny, Iowa, Rodney (Barb) Kaltenheuser, and Steve (Barb) Kaltenheuser, both of Kelley, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Lisa Sheldahl, Amy Wright, LeAnn Markley, Stacie Price, Jennifer Thompson, Julie Krbec and John Kaltenheuser; 14 great grandchildren, Mallorie Sheldahl, Mollie Sheldahl, Madeline Sheldahl, Marshal Sheldahl, McKayla Markley, Alexa Markley, Olivia Markley, Rylie Price, Nate Price, Carter Thompson, Quinn Thompson, Piper Thompson, Jubal Krbec and Jasper Krbec; brother, Roger (Grace) Engen, of Ames; and sister, Dorothy Denton, of Cambridge, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 2002; her parents, and three sisters, Thelma Sams, Mildred Fitch, and Alvina McHone.
Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church.
